Hi, I’m Courtney.

I’m a scientist and author with a passion for bringing untold stories to life- especially those that combine my love for illuminating the overlap between science and art.

Born and raised in New Jersey, my voice is one of integrity and humor. I like to find the fun in everything, but I also like to get it right.

My “free time” is spent day- and night-dreaming, waking to scribble down ideas for children’s books, novels, jokes, and screenplays. I enjoy beautiful things that make me think, discovering new comedy that pushes the limits of my laughter, and entertaining my friends and family with the things I have collected along the way.

I have my PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and my specialty is communicating highly-complex scientific concepts to different audiences, often tailoring the same story in different ways to be the most impactful. In non-fiction, I have published dozens of peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and have attended and presented at many prestigious international scientific and medical conferences.  In 2022, I was named “Woman of the Year” by the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association as nominated by my company for my vision and leadership in science.

Nonetheless, my passion remains writing fiction. I am an active participant in the Book Inc. writing clinic and member of Project Write Now. I was accepted into and completed the Spring 2024 Highlights Whole Novel Workshop where my novel was critiqued by established, published authors.
